-
Wood flooring must be protected from exposure to extreme heat, cold or humid conditions including flooding or subterranean conditions.
-
Caring for your floor will maintain its beauty.
-
Sweep or vacuum often and use a wood floor cleaner recommended by the manufacturer.

-
Clean up all spills as soon as possible
-
Never mop with water. It can permanently damage your flooring. Use a recommended cleaner, WATER AND WOOD NEVER MIX.
-
For preventative maintenance, use area rugs or mats at all entries to prevent dirt and moisture from being tracked onto the floor. Area rugs should have a backing that will not cause discoloration of the wood. Do not use rugs with solid rubber, vinyl or rough backing.
-
Use floor protector pads under furniture to prevent denting: felt pads are best.
-
Use caution when moving heavy objects across the floor. Do not drag as this can cause damage to the floor.
-
Pet nails or other sharp items can scratch the finish of your floor.
-
Wood is greatly influenced by the environmental conditions of your home. Temperature and humidity must be controlled. Recommended is relative humidity level between 45% and 65% throughout the year to minimize the natural expansion and contraction of your floor.
