Moldings For Laminate
All hardwood flooring has moldings that coordinate (but not match exactly) with their color. Moldings are meant to cover the expansion gaps, raw edge of wood and transition to other products.
Reducer – Used to create a smooth transition between two floors of different heights, as well as protect the wood’s exposed edge from damage caused by foot traffic
T-Molding – Used to bridge two areas of flooring that are the exact same height. The T-Molding overlaps the exposed edges of the floor and is secured only to the subfloor, never to the flooring itself.
Threshold – Typically used at an exterior doorway, threshold moldings transition between the flooring and the doorway threshold.
Quarter Round – Used to cover the expansion gap next to walls, cabinets and other unmovable items. Can be prefinished to coordinate with the wood floor or painted to coordinate with existing baseboard or wall.
Wall Base – Can be used in place of a baseboard and are prefinished to coordinate with the floor.
Stairnose – Create a transition for steps.
