Thinking Green Is Earning

Mohawk FloorCare Essentials High Praise

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency makes protecting our planet a top priority.

Established in 1970, the EPA has worked to improve human health and the environment by leading the nation’s environmental science, research, education, and assessment efforts.

As one of the largest recyclers in the flooring industry, Mohawk believes it’s our responsibility to lead efforts like those outlined by the EPA. It was this mindset that led to developments like Mohawk recycling millions of pounds of tires into doormats every year and using sawdust and bio–waste as alternative energy sources. We pride ourselves not only on the earth-friendly products we create but also on the innovative ways we save energy when creating those products.

As well, we continued our green thinking when we developed Mohawk FloorCare Essentials and our ideas did not go unnoticed.

Mohawk FloorCare Essentials Represent Design for the Environment

When awarding the distinguished Design for the Environment (DfE) label, the EPA focuses on a product’s reduction of chemical risk and improvements in energy efficiency with lasting, positive change.

A scientific review team screens each ingredient to determine the effects on human health and the environment and to ensure that the product contains only those ingredients that pose the least concern among chemicals in their class.

The DfE label allows consumers to quickly identify and choose products that help protect the environment and are safer for families. By meeting DfE standards, Mohawk has earned the right to display this logo on our entire line of FloorCare Essentials products.*

We went the extra mile in our bottling process as well. Mohawk has the world’s largest fully integrated PET bottles recycling plant and the plastic FloorCare Essentials bottles and spray triggers are 100% recyclable.

Taking care of the earth is a duty that we don’t take lightly. With Mohawk FloorCare Essentials you can keep your floors looking fantastic while instituting a green initiative of your own.
