CARPET WARRANTY
Most carpet manufacturer’s warranties are divided into categories of good, better, best ranging from 5 years to 10 years. Not all carpets will have all the warranties listed below and some could have more. Be sure to check with your sales consultant for the exact warranty for your carpet.
Limited Abrasive Wear Warranty
-
Warrants for a specified period of time from original date of installation that the surface pile of your carpet will not be worn by abrasion more than 10% during the warranty period provided the carpet is installed over cushion meeting the standards noted by the manufacturer and is maintained according to the manufacturer’s recommendations in an owner occupied, single family residence.
-
Abrasive wear means fiber-loss from the carpet through normal abrasion, not from crushing or flattening of the carpet pile in any area, or from staining, soiling, fading or other changes in carpet appearance. Carpets installed outdoors, on stairs, in bathrooms, kitchens or in areas subject to other than normal shoe traffic are not covered by this warranty. Specifically excluded from this warranty is damage caused by tears, pulls, piling, burns, improper installation, inadequate cushion, improper cleaning, furniture, wheel traffic, or athletic or exercise equipment.
Limited Stain Warranty
No carpet is stain proof. Stain Protected carpets will resist most food and beverage stains. Hot beverage substances and non-food substances that alter colors, such as bleaching agents, acne medications, and other strong chemicals, are excluded. Foods or beverages that contain strongly-colored material dyes such as mustard, coffee and herbal teas are also excluded.
